Graphics Designer

JOB DEFINITION

Role and responsibilities include:

• Design and Implement User Interfaces for Web and Desktop-based applications
• Maintain and enhance existing User Interfaces
• Create visual graphical design, including typography, visual concept, composition, layout, color for Web and Desktop-based applications
• Integrate usefulness and usability insights throughout the design and development process
• Maintain and enhance User Interfaces of software applications by analyzing and designing computer programs to meet business and performance requirements as defined in the Functional Requirements Specifications
• Review data models and help formulate conceptual User Interface application designs and solutions
• Revise and improve conceptual User Interface application designs to support new and evolving use cases
• Investigate, research, and fix issues and defects in User Interfaces of software applications.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience

The following skills are required:

• Experience with Adobe Flash, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and similar tools
• Stakeholder management and customer service experience
• Industry and project User Interface design experience
• Experience building/architecting software interface screens
• Prototyping and Proof of Concept experience
• Skill and experience in gathering and analyzing GUI requirements
• Experience in translating functional and technical requirements into good screen design
• Design technical skills (preferably Flash and Visio)
• Ability to work effectively within a team-based organizational structure
• Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
• Excellent written and verbal English language skills

Desired Skills, Knowledge And Experience

The following skills are a plus:

• 2+ years experience in software development and programming
• Knowledge of Microsoft Server and Client technologies
• General knowledge of enterprise software applications
• B.S. or B.A. in Computer Science, Arts, Graphics Design, an Engineering discipline, or equivalent
